ME695 Professional Practice III
This course is part two of a 4-part course series during the students’ clinical year. Professional Practice II continues the development of essential knowledge and skills needed for clinical and professional success as a Physician Assistant. Students will review key laws and regulations that govern PA practice and professional conduct, with particular attention to state and federal laws regarding physician-assisted suicide and their implications for clinical decision-making. The importance of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) waiver training will be explored as part of addressing the current healthcare needs. Students will continue to demonstrate their medical knowledge through the completion of board review questions and strengthen their clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills through patient case presentations. The course emphasizes the critical evaluation of evidence-based medical literature to support lifelong learning and informed clinical practice. Additionally, students will apply principles of interprofessional collaboration to real-world clinical scenarios, reinforcing the role of teamwork in optimizing patient care. This course ensures students are well-prepared to meet both the clinical and ethical challenges of professional practice.
