PUBH460 Internship in Public Health
The internship is an integral part of the BSPH curriculum. The internship is intended to broaden the student’s perspectives in population health while at the same time permitting them to apply the theory and content learned in class in public health practice. It is therefore expected that through the internship experience the student will have the opportunity to interact with public health professionals in public health agency or setting and participate in public health activities. Furthermore, the student will be exposed to various ways to solve public health problems, with experiences that reinforce leadership skills, communication principles, program planning and policy development, infection control, emergency preparedness, and sensitivity to diversity and cultural issues. Evaluation is made by the internship advisor and the Division Chair in consultation with the employer. Prerequisites: Junior standing and permission of Program coordinator.
