This course introduces first-year biotechnology majors to the field of biotechnology, major career pathways, ethical considerations, and foundational laboratory skills. Students will gain exposure to industry and research applications and practice essential skills—including proper pipetting technique, solution preparation, aseptic technique awareness, and maintaining laboratory notebooks—that will be used throughout the biotechnology curriculum. Offered in Fall.
